Our second swim meet is this Saturday, June 27th against Russett (RST) at their pool.

The meet start time this coming Saturday (June 27th) at Russett has been changed to 8:00am instead of 8:30am.  This means that all swimmers need to be there to check-in between 7:10 and 7:20am for our 7:30am warm-up time.  Officials should be there by 7:45am.

There will also be a PeeWee event for those SVA Jr. Marlins present so make sure any Jr. Marlins bring their suits.

   Directions from Smallwood pool to Russett: Estimated Time: 57 minutes; Estimated Distance: 41.4 miles; 3502 Russett Common, Laurel, MD.  From Stone Ave, turn L onto Smallwood Drive. Turn R at Crain Hwy/US-301N.  Stay straight to continue onto Branch Ave/MD-5N and travel 9.1 miles.  Merge onto I-495 N towards Balt./College Park and travel 14.5 miles.  Take the Balt./Wash. Pkwy N, Exit 22A towards Baltimore.  Merge onto the BW Pkwy N/295 N via the left exit towards Balt./BWI and travel 9.1 miles.  Exit onto Fort Meade Rd/MD-198 toward Laurel and travel 0.6 miles.  Turn R at Russett Green E.  Turn L at Russett Common and the pool is directly ahead of you.

!! 10 & Under Guppy Invitational 7/12/09 !!

We had an exciting meet against Roger Carter on Saturday despite the thunderstorm delays. The final score was RCS, 292.5 and SVAC, 274.5.  Congratulations to our two triple winners: Anna Wells and Madison Roth.  Many swimmers bettered their times (from the Time Trial meet) and completed races legally.  We are very proud of the sportsmanship our swimmers displayed and the effort they put forth. This is a great start to our summer season!  Thanks to all our swimmers (and parents) for being patient with the various delays and for checking in with Coaches Debbie & Lindsey when they arrived at the pool.  A good week of practice will help the team improve.  Remember you’re only as good as you practice. Thanks again to every parent/guardian who helped work the meet.

!! 10 & Under Guppy Invitational 7/12/09 !!

 

Morning practices begin next Monday, June 15^th for all Marlins swimmers (Advanced: 7:30-9:00am, Intermediate: 9:00-10:00am, Beginner: 10:00-10:45am).  If you don’t know which of the three practice sessions you are in, please see Coach Debbie or Coach Lindsey and they will let you know.

Jr. Marlins morning practices begin Monday, June 15th at 10:00am for Jr. Marlins swimmers.
